fic stats!
rules: give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the least words.
please excuse me bc i was not tagged in this, but i saw this pop up on my dash from some of my non-mutuals and i was OBSESSED - so i did not wait my turn, i've just gone for it :)
most hits: yes, there is a chain and no, you're not on it (schitt's creek) a patrick/david fic i started when there were literally 15 fics for them on ao3 - it's patrick and stevie's text chain for all of the episodes of season four and i still feel smug about some of the things i managed to predict. i think it has the most hits of anything because it was there at the Beginning on ao3, it's got the most chapters, and i did accidentally leave it unfinished for like two years. (oops.) [but it has an incredible podfic!]
second most kudos: the best made plans are your open hands (911) for a fic that kind of walloped me upside the head and made me write it in like... a single evening, the reception on this has been SO sweet!!! an au where maddie takes buck with her when she leaves home at 18. i call it my 'happy healthy buckley verse' and i even have some more headcanons for it in the tag i have for it. in my mind, nothing ever really goes wrong for these two in this verse; it's my emotional support au.
third most comments: i only wanna be alone with you (schitt's creek) another patrick/david fic, this one written for a challenge. (a deadline always increases the likelihood of me finishing a fic.) this is probably (?) the ~sexiest thing i've ever written and it is... like not that explicit lmao. it also had a prompt that made me want to jump out of window bc my secondhand embarrassment threshold is practically zero - but i managed to write something that even my poor little soul could read and enjoy. [technically, 3rd most comments is the previous fic, but this one isn't far off in 4th place.]
fourth most bookmarks: deliver us unto each other (the old guard) this fic is my favorite child. i just think the stuff i love writing and the stuff i'm good at writing collided in this fic in a really lovely way and i'm so stinkin' proud of it. i felt feral while writing it lmao. it's about nicky's complex but deeply earnest and loving relationship with god and how his love for joe actually reaffirms his faith!! plus some great nicky + nile bonding.
fifth most words: i fell heavy into your arms (as the world turns) this is not my favorite of my luke/noah fics but i am very glad one of them made it on the list because all of my longest stuff is for this fandom and i miss nuke an unreasonable amount. those big bang prompts could pull 30k from me, no problem!!! this one's an au where noah is a detective and he has to solve damian's murder - and holden is a suspect :(
and least amount of words: Commandeered (h50) god this one was written so long ago it's still got an uppercase letter in the title 😬 also back in the day when i was still posting individual drabbles as their own fics - i've learned better! this fic represents my intense mcdanno phase, which still lingers in my heart like poison. (or a bomb.) genuinely a delightful prompt tho - an au where danny is the navy SEAL and steve is the jersey transplant. i honestly think i pulled this one off pretty well! they still sound very much like themselves.
-
i'm sad none of my sparty fics happened to make it in, since that was an Era unto itself but all of these delight me, so!!! here you go!!!
i tag: @cluelessheroes @functionalnihilism @angryfightingjew @woebegone-kenobi and literallly anyone else who wants to do this. you, yes you. i mean it!!! i promise you, if you do this and just pretend like i've tagged you to do it i will EDIT this post and tag you in it like you've always been there. i don't care if we're not mutuals DO IT!!! (sorry this was fun i really liked it and i'd like everyone else to have fun too!)

Your twenties are a time to go on adventures, try everything once, fall in love, drink too much, and grow into the person you are meant to be. Whether you are going backpacking for the summer, or just spending a week or two exploring a new country, traveling helps you to expand your mind and find new respect for people of different cultures.
I followed my heart all over the world for most of my twenties. I believe that traveling in your twenties is the most fun when you steer clear of fancy hotels and opt for social hostels, cheap eats, and wild parties. You can do the fancy thing in your later years! I’ve been living in Europe on and off for five years now, and these are my picks for the best cities to visit in Europe during your freedom years. Since we can’t really travel at the moment, it’s fun to spend some time planning the next big trip.
Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is the place for culture, food, and lots of fun. It’s a hotspot for staying up all night in nightclubs, roaming winding streets with your friends, and lounging the day away at the beach.
There is so much to see and do in Barcelona, you could easily spend several weeks in the city. I would recommend a stay of at least three nights, to ensure you have a proper taste of what it has to offer. Check out the seemingly never ending shopping on La Rambla, explore the hidden vintage shops down the winding side streets, and try tapas everywhere you go. Catch a tan on the beach before heading out to have a few drinks and getting your boogie on in the late night clubs. If history is your thing, there are museums all over the city to stop by, and historic cathedrals and monuments to cool down in. There is really something for everyone.
Exploring Gaudi’s Park Guell
Where to Stay: St. Christopher’s Inn – Central hostel with a bar/restaurant attached; book directly on their website for a discounted rate
Where to Eat: Casa do Acai – Brunch; fresh acai bowls and salads Quimet y Quimet – Lunch and dinner; standing room only authentic tapas and wine La Malandrina – Dinner; affordable steak house
Where to Drink: Nevermind – Cheap happy hour beers; has an indoor skate park!  Two Schmucks – Cocktails; small cocktail bar with incredible drinks and bartenders
What to Do: Magic Fountain of Montjuic – Gorgeous fountain that dances along with music La Sagrada Familia – Gaudi’s famous unfinished church with stunning views inside; book online for discounted tickets and shorter wait times
The magic fountain in action
Check out all of the trips and experiences offered by Stoke Travel while you’re in the city. They run boat parties and nights out that are the perfect way to meet like-minded young travelers.
Budapest, Hungary
Ahhhh Budapest. I’ve spent several weeks in this city, and yet have so much left to see. It’s a city unlike any other, and it’s so affordable, making it a perfect destination for twenty-something travelers. Again, I would recommend spending at least three nights here to soak it in.
I recommend staying at one of the many party hostels in the city. They can take you along on one of their legendary bar crawls to all of the hidden hot spots in the city. It is important to stay safe in Budapest, as the city is not known for being particularly safe.
Budapest has a rich, turbulent history that is reflected in the architecture and layout of the city. Catch a free walking tour to get your bearings on your first day in the city, before heading out into the nightlife. Enjoy a drink in the spas, watch live music in one of the ruin bars, and ride the Jager train in your hostel’s basement.
Embracing my inner festival girl at Sziget 2016
Where to Stay: Grandio Party Hostel – The king of Budapest party hostels; keep an open mind and you’ll have a ball
Where to Eat: Trofea Grill – All you can eat… and drink, for about 12 Euros. Enough said. Bors Gastro Bar– Located right next to Szimpla Kert, this soup and sandwich shop is notorious for its quality, cheap eats. Cash only, and very small, but very worth it.
Where to Drink: Szimpla Kert – An eclectic indoor/outdoor bar where you can enjoy a beer while sitting in a bathtub
What to Do: Sziget Festival – Seven days of music, sunshine, parties, and art; one of the most affordable music festivals in Europe; August Szechenyi Spa Baths “Sparty” – It’s a party, in a spa. You’ve gotta try it.
Berlin, Germany
Burgermeister, my long lost love
After I worked at Oktoberfest in 2016, I took a cheap Flixbus up to Berlin and stayed for almost two weeks. Berlin is one of the most hip places I have ever been. The people in Berlin are just so cool. There is an abundance of art, cool bars, history, and great food. The nightclubs are open 24 hours, and people tend to be very free and open about nudity and sexuality inside.
I’d recommend staying in Berlin for 5-7 days. There is so much to explore, you would have an amazing adventure every single day. From the traditional stuff, like walking the Berlin wall‘s art gallery and visiting Checkpoint Charlie, to the more unique experiences in the clubs and abundance of abandoned buildings, there is really something for everyone. And as an added bonus, I found that Berlin is actually quite cheap.
Checkpoint Charlie
Berlin Wall
Where to Stay: 36Rooms Hostel– Affordable hostel in a good location in East Berlin. It’s surrounded by bars and restaurants and is a good base camp for exploring the city.
Where to Eat: Burgermeister– I literally ate here for breakfast and lunch most days. It is incredible. It’s just a small burger shack in what used to be the toilets of a train station, but it’s some of the best food I’ve had in my life. I still think about it often.
Where to Drink: Berghain– This is a nightclub that is notoriously hard to get into. Even if you don’t get in, its an experience to just try. And if you get in… it’s an experience. (Note: I did not get in.) Klunkerkranich– This is a really unique bar located on the top floor of a parking garage.
What to Do: Free Walking Tours– My favorite was the Berlin street art tour, but there are tons that cover the historic sites in the city as well Spreepark– So, you’ve got to break in to get into this abandoned amusement park. We did, and it was so eerily cool. The Ferris wheel still turns, on its own… There are a bunch of other cool abandoned places around the city to check out!
These are just a few highlights from these three incredible cities, entirely based on my own experiences visiting them! I feel as though I barely scratched the surface with all three places, so please feel free to drop your own recommendations into the comments! Counting the days until we can all travel again… sigh.
The Best European Cities to Visit in Your Twenties Your twenties are a time to go on adventures, try everything once, fall in love, drink too much, and grow into the person you are meant to be.

NBA mock draft 2017: Markelle Fultz leads a fresh corps of point guards
Our latest NBA mock draft has a poetic twist.
The 2017 NBA draft is less than three months away. Teams have an incredible opportunity to shape their futures with the deepest, most high-potential collection of talent in perhaps 14 years. What happens on June 22 could tilt the league on its axis and flip the paradigm, creating new superpowers.
Franchises in the throes of historic playoff droughts could find salvation in the form of 19-year-olds on structured contracts. A powerhouse team could get another incredible weapon for its arsenal in the quest to take down LeBron. Trades old and new could twist everything into impossible knots.
This draft is a deadly serious milestone on the NBA’s timeline. So let’s do a haiku mock draft.
What follows is a mock draft based on the standings as of Saturday, going through the top 14 picks. The twist is that, as in years past, it is littered with haiku. And I do mean littered: this haiku is unsightly, gross, and a little depressing. Enjoy!
1. Celtics (from Nets): Markelle Fultz, G, Washington
Fultz is Number 1. That much has become quite clear. (Missing Madness helped.)
Celts have a point guard. His name: Isaiah Thomas. He is fricking great.
Take Fultz anyway? You must!, lest you trade the pick. Don’t think about fit.
It will all work out. Rookie challenging All-Star? I.T. will be fine.
It’s not like he has a huge chip on his shoulder or something. It’s fine.
2. Lakers: Josh Jackson, F, Kansas
Lonzo in L.A.? It makes too much sense! And yet ... Jackson could go here.
Dope wings are vital to building a playoff squad. There, the Lakers lack.
Jackson has some skills, good size, bounce, and court vision. A hell of a mix.
Of course, L.A. could lose its pick altogether. This one is frosting.
3. Suns: Jayson Tatum, F, Duke
Tatum is real good. Tremendous feel for the game. Elite size, also.
The Suns’ summer should be intriguing. Balancing youth and growth is hard.
Tatum, in that sense, provides a bridge. He’s ready now, strong upside too.
Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports
4. Magic: Lonzo Ball, G, UCLA
Will Lonzo Ball fall? Can the Magic scoop him up? Can he fix that team?
Lonzo’s divisive. Some see Kidd. Some see just hype. His shot’s the question.
Can he get it off against NBA size, length? Will his pace survive?
The jury is out. But I think he has a chance to be quite special.
Lonzo Ball! Lonzo? Lonzo! Lonzo Ball! Lonzo! And dad LaVar, too.
(That was a jingle. I will send the invoice to you, Big Baller Brand.)
5. Sixers: Dennis Smith, Jr., G, NC State
More guards please, Philly. We want to see you win games. Embiid needs some help.
Saric has been bright, but T.J. and Cov? You need more people, Sixers.
Dennis Smith can fly. His explosiveness would give the Sixers some boom.
6. Knicks: Malik Monk, G, Kentucky
Who will make this pick? Is P-Jax sticking around? Or is it Melo?
This is a big deal. The Knicks have a chance to add a bright young player.
Kristaps needs a pal. A point guard? That would be nice. But anything helps.
Monk can shoot and score. And he plays with so much heart. New York will love him.
7. Kings: De’Aaron Fox, G, Kentucky
Now that Boogie’s gone there’s a thirst for young prospects. A rebuild is here.
That starts at the point; luckily, there are some good lead guards in this draft.
Fox could be the best at running a team, defense, and revving up fans.
Point guards who can’t shoot are forever a dice roll. That’s a risk you take.
Brett Rojo-USA TODAY Sports
8. Timberwolves: Miles Bridges, F, Michigan State
Yo! Sleeper alert! Bridges has a lot of fans among the draft folk.
Sparty ain’t known for its athletes, more like tough guys. But hey: why not both?
9. Mavericks: Isaiah Hartenstein, F, Germany
Wait, a tall German? A power forward who shoots? Hmm, sounds familiar.
10. Kings (from Pelicans): Jonathan Isaac, F, Florida State
So what if you take Brandon Ingram, stretch him out like taffy? Isaac!
11. Pistons: Lauri Markkanen, F, Arizona
Could he go top five? Yes! Lauri’s a great prospect. This draft is killer.
He fits in Detroit supposing the team still plays S.V.G.’s style.
12. Hornets: Justin Jackson, F, North Carolina
This is too easy. He’s ready to play, and he’s a Tar Heel. Alright!
13. Nuggets: Frank Ntilikina, G, France
Can’t use his last name. Not sure the N is silent. Haiku mock draft: hard.
14. Bulls: Jawun Evans, G, Oklahoma State
It is not Juwan. Memo to all broadcasters! It is not Juwan.
